Cuttlebug Luv Bug Weekend!

OK, I'm hoping you've been to visit my tutorial at Cuttlebug Challenges Blog. If you've not, go there first....my Treat Tin Tutorial posted at 7PM.
Now to show you 1 more trick with the Cuttlebug. I used medium Glassine Bags from Papretrey Ink. They are the perfect size to fit into a cuttlebug folder. I used Swiss Dots to emboss my bag.

Then I cut a rectangle out of cardstock the same width of my bag. I then stamped it and folded it in half.

Next fill your bag with your choice of treats, I chose doggie bones. Staple your bag topper in place.

Then tie a pretty ribbon around your bag to hide the staple. That's all there is to it.

Now for my blog candy. Here's what's up for grabs.

Leave a message here and tell me your favorite thing about the Luv Bug Weekend and I'll pick a winner Monday. If you entered for the blog candy the other nite, then go ahead and leave a comment to double your chances to win, I'll put your name in the hat twice. I just want to thank everyone for participating in our Blog Hop, I've had so much fun! Good Luck!

2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's Sketch 18

Quick post just to show you my 2 Sketches 4 You card this week. Here is Laura's sketch this week:

And here is my take on it:

I used Colorbok and SEI paper, ribbon from my August Paper Playground kit. I cut my cloud from Cricut's Hello Kitty Sentiments. And stamped my saying using a Papertrey Ink stamp. I like this card because it's sunny and happy:)
Enjoy.

CPS Challenge

Hi all. Just finished my tutorial for this weekends LUV BUG WEEKEND at Cuttlebug Challenge. Click HERE to see the line-up for the weekend and all of the giveaways.
This week CPS is also having a ton of giveaways, so I just had to do a card. Here is the layout:

And here is my creation:

I used Lori's weaved card tutorial to weave a square. I used all Colorbok and K & Co. paper for this card. Then I cut a heart out with my Cricut George Cartridge and used the negative (removed the heart and used the template of it) to create my weaved heart window. I then traced the heart with stickles. My bling is Prima in the background.
Hope you like my card. My fingers are tired from all the typing, must rest now!
Enjoy.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired # 16

Hello everyone, it's Wednesday and you know what that means. Us Cuttlebuggers (not sure that's a word!) have been hard at work preparing you some amazing cards. Please go to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog to see all of their beautiful cards.
This week's challenge is to distress a card...sand it, tear it, paint it....just distress it! And don't forget, you also have to use your Cuttlebug! I loved this challenge and had a lot of fun making my card. Here it is:

I started with a beautiful piece of turquoise Colorbok card stock. I then cut a slightly smaller piece of Cosmo Cricket paper and ran it thru my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. I then sanded the little embossed dots and ran Tim Holtz distressing ink over the top of them. It blends in so well it looks like part of the paper! I then glued this layer to my card stock getting the glue close to the edges of my paper....when the glue dried I picked around the edges of it to give it a natural torn look because I really had to work at tearing it. I then used a Hambley overlay and spelled the word "Adore" with American Craft Thickers. I added a Colorbok Chipboard corner and sewed it in place. Then I took my distressing ink and ran it over all of the edges of my card. And of course I had to add some hemp string. I made this card to be a masculine Valentine...I thought the colors and the distressed look would be appropriate for my Hubby...no pink to be seen, so he should like it!
Now it's your turn...go to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog and look at all of the DT's awesome ideas and then get to work. And don't forget all of the fun starting Friday - the Luv Bug Weekend will be in full force at CB Challenge. Tons of giveaways and I may have a little giveaway of my very own:)

A Little Raspberry Fizz!

I recently bought some stamps and paper from Papertrey Ink and I just love my new goodies. They have the prettiest paper pack called Raspberry Fizz and it's beautiful. So both cards tonite were experiments with the polka dot raspberry fizz paper and the new Love Songs stamps.

Isn't that paper just beautiful? I'm a very messy stamper, so I try to stamp something else and add it to my card - I don't do good directly stamping. Forgive the pictures, the wind was blowing, snow was on the ground, and I wasn't gonna stay out there one minute longer than I had to!
The forecast for my area of Kentucky is, possibly snow, or ice, or rain?! No one's sure yet, I'm hoping it's just sunny! I'll post more projects tomorrow.

Paper Playground Fun

I just wanted to post a few cards that I had created with my new Paper Playground kits. I just love using all of the pretty papers and embellishments that come with the kits!
This is the recent January Kit. It is loaded with Melissa Frances products, which I adore.

Look at that beautiful ribbon, it is even prettier in person!
My next card I made with the May 2008 kit. I also stamped this card using Inkadinkadoo stamps and hemp to make the little bow.

This Friday (1/30) is the blog hop at Cuttlebug Challenge blog and I have a Valentine tin tutorial coming up on Saturday, so cancel or don't make any plans for next weekend so you can participate;)
Enjoy!

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge

Time for my 2 Sketches 4 You card of the week. Here's the awesome sketch:

And here is my creation:

I used My Mind's Eye paper, major bling from Prima, and Melissa Frances flowers. The card says "Sweet Baby" but it was actually sooo sunny it was hard to see.
It was a beautiful and sunny day here in Kentucky...it has just made my case of Spring Fever worse! I didn't even have to wear a coat and boy did that feel great. I've got some pictures to share tonight. My first picture is of Miss Kitty, just look how she's growing!

Next, Miss Kitty decided to give Smoky my little horse a kiss, I thought this was adorable! Look over Smoky's hair, he needs a trim!

And next, this is Whitie. He's the leader of the pack and I just love him. The reason for his name - he has a couple of white tail feathers.

And for a little bit more chicken news, my neighbor gave us a BIG rooster and 2 big hens today. We have the little tiny chickens so these things look like monsters compared to them. Can't wait to get to know them!
Today's my anniversary to my sweetie, we've been married 5 fun and happy years. Every day I spend with him is a treat and he's truly my best friend, what more could a girl ask for:)
Hope you've enjoyed my little card and pictures..

LOVE to Shop!

My hubby says "how can you want to buy new stuff already, we just had Christmas." I really do understand what he's saying, but it seems to go in one ear and out the other. He just doesn't understand how quickly trends change in scrapbooking;) So today I went to Hobby Lobby and boy oh boy did I find good sells. They had all of their stamps and stickers 50% off! Here's a little preview of some of the things I bought, check out the little wooden heart box I got, how cute is that?

And then when I got home I had a package! You can't imagine how I love getting stuff like that in the mail. I got my Paper Playground kits and they are fabulous. The January kit is full of Melissa Frances paper and matching trinkets and I just LOVE it. So I have had a wonderful scrappy day.
Wanted to share a little funny that happened today. We took my little nephew Logan who is 8 going on 30 with us shopping. Well at the restaurant he ordered steak and the waitress asked him how he wanted it (she meant well done, etc.). He looked at her as serious as anything and said "cut up". I cracked up at the little guy.
Here's my card for the nite. I based it on an old 2 Sketches layout that I had enjoyed making and thought I'd try it again.

It turned out very festive and I loved how simple it is and neat.
And in other news, I've been trying to get my friend Lisa to start a blog for months. But she's stubborn and said she didn't have anything to write about! Well guess what, click here to see her page. She finally gave in and is EVEN posting cards...I told her to think she could have been having all this fun months ago:)
Hope you are taking part in the Cuttlebug Challenge this week.
Enjoy!

Cuttlebug Inspirations Challenge # 15

Time for another challenge at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog! This week's challenge is awesome because it is inspired by Becky Fleck, the writer of Page Maps and designer for Basic Grey. We are using one of her layouts this week and here it is:

And here is my take on the project:

I used My Mind's Eye paper embossed with the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls folder. I then used my Nestabilities to cut out my little scalloped circles, Papertrey Ink stamps, Cricut "Hello Kitty Sentiments" cartridge for my strawberries, and buttons with Martha Stewart twine. The strawberries are special because I ran them thru my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder - I just inverted them so the dots were embossed down and I could fill each dot with red stickles for my strawberry seeds.

This challenge is very special BECAUSE Becky Fleck herself is going to pick the winner of the challenge, so put your thinking cap on and make the best card possible! And I here the winner might be getting her Page Maps book! Hmmmm, so you may get your card viewed and chosen by a famous scrapbooker and win a book! How much better can that get!
Enjoy.

Back To Work : (

Well my sweet vacation is over...all of my lazy January vacation days are gone! All I have done all week is ate, slept, and scrapped. I've not accomplished one MAJOR thing, besides doing some online shopping and the laundry! And we've ate out or with family almost every nite...Last nite we went to this little pizza place to grab a snack and take the dogs for a ride, we almost hit deer, a possum, and something else unidentified with little glowing eyes! It's just not worth risking little animals and my vehicle for it:)
I have a little "toot"! You need to go over to the Cuttlebug Challenge blog and look at my picture and bio! Kinda makes me nauseated to think of my picture up there, but hey what can a girl do? And tomorrow Shannon from the CB Design Team is having a great tutorial at CB Challenge, you need to go over and read her great tips! She's also got a fabulous blog with plenty of card ideas!
OK here's my card for the nite. I was kinda feeling like I wanted to use Autumn colors and it really worried me that I might end up making a Thanksgiving card (which I'd really rather not do at Valentine's Day!) but it ended up turning into a "Friends" card.

I took this picture with my new Light Box. I just love it, so easy. I owe Mom and my Aunt T a big thanks for that one! Click on their names to check out their blogs...they are scrappers too and that's how we check out each others projects! Very 2009, don't ya think?
Well it's bedtime...I've been fighting with Adobe Photoshop for 2 hours at least! To use computers and technology constantly, I can't do a thing with Photoshop!

Baby It's Cold Outside!!!!

It is freezing here in Kentucky....I mean so COLD that I would never know I had fingers and toes when I come inside! And what did I do on a cold day like today? Well stayed outside of course...I know, crazy right? But if my little farm animals have to be out, then I want to be out also. Here's a picture of the thermometer on our barn, looks like it's about 10 degrees, it got down to 4 last night.

My little chickens seemed to love the cold. They got out and stretched their wings in the sun and enjoyed the little bit of warmth.

And now a short story about Chigger (the Golden Retriever) and Sophie (the black lab). They are my father in-law's dogs and spoiled rotten. He bought this old rattle trap truck to drive around the farm of the days so Chig and Sophie can have a ride (he didn't want all the dog hairs in his good trucks). So that's what they do, they stay in the truck while he takes care of all the animals. They have the heat on and ALWAYS listen to the oldies on the radio. And if you try to ride in the truck with them they get so offended. So since it was soooo cold today we hitched a ride in the truck and look at their faces! Don't you just love the red dice? I'm confident that someday the old truck will blow-up!

Now my card for today. Kinda surprised what way this card went. It all started with the scalloped circles and the little bird I cut out with my Cricut Storybook cartridge and that's what I built the card around.

I embossed the background with vines and inked them green, used K & Co. and Melissa Frances paper, Autumn Leaves stamps, Fiskars scallop punch, and buttons. This little card reminds me of nature and that's why I like it.

Hope you enjoy my little card for tonight.

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge

Hi everyone! I'm not to early, not to late with this weeks 2 Sketches card. When I first look at this sketch I thought "uh oh", my mind went blank. But when I set down to start working it came together so quick. Here's the sketch by Laura:

And here's my creation:

I used some Creative Imaginations paper that I loved and had been saving for the right moment, used my Cricut "Storybook" cartridge to cut out the butterfly square with scallops and then handstitched around it. Stamped "Love" with Autumn Leaves stamps, and added some ribbon and tadaaa, a card was born.

Has anyone been over to the Cuttlebug Challenge blog lately? The cards created for this weeks challenge have all been beautiful. Can't believe some of the things you can make with the Cuttlebug!
The snow is flying outside and the temperature is dropping, suppose to be ZERO tomorrow nite, it's been a LONG time since it's been that cold here. My farm animals seem to love it, the colder the better. And an update on my chicken, she still isn't walking good, but she is more herself and even tried to peck Ms. Kitty the other day - so she's getting back to her old ways. I've been giving her foot massages with special foot balm....goodness it's not an easy thing to doctor on a chicken!
Enjoy!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge #14

Hi everyone! I finally get to SHARE my first Cuttlebug DT card with you and I'm so excited! The challenge at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog is to design a card using your favorite embossing folder...of course I'm obsessed with swiss dots, so here's my card:

I used the swiss dots folder on the base of some Colorbok cardstock. I then cut a strip of My Mind's Eye paper, scalloped it with my Fiskars scallop, and filled the tiny scallop holes with Stickles to give it some shine. I then cut another strip of pink paper and embossed it also. I took Martha Stewart ink and swept it over all of my raised embossed dots. I added some K & Co. butterflies and used my Cricut Storybook cartridge to make the letters for "Thanks".

This challenge was so much fun because I just got to be creative and make anything I wanted. Be sure to go to the blog
and check out all of the Design Teams cards, they did a terrific job.

Time to Celebrate!!!

Hi guys. What's been going on in the blogging world? After I work a few days I feel like I miss so much in my blogging friends "scrappy" lives. But I've got good news, I'm on vacation all week so I get to sit back, relax, and enjoy all the snow and 5 degree temperatures we're suppose to have! Life on the farm is SOOOO hard when it's that cold, everything is more difficult x 100. The animals seem to love cold weather, especially my horses and donkeys. I made a discovery today, my ducks now have names. I've always just called them "the ducks" but my father in-law informed me they are Frank and Freda Quacker. I cracked up, if there's ever someone in this world who loves animals more than me, it's him!
Tonite I'm posting a "Celebrate" card in honor of my vacation. I wanted to make a masculine card, but not over the top manly. I think this little card was exactly what I had in mind:

I used some Colorbok cardstock, my base for most all cards. I have a little 4x6 Peebles Inc. creativity pad that I used for everything else. The rub on is K & Co. and I used my Fiskars scallop punch, Martha Stewart Ink, and Stickes.

This week (Wednesday) is my first Design Team challenge at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog! I'm so excited. Even if you don't have a Cuttlebug, check it out. In the upcoming months we're having tons of giveaways and hopefully a blog hop with a treasure hunt! How fun is that?!? It's hard to believe last year I was throwing around the idea of starting a blog and kept telling my friends I didn't have a "CLUE" where to start, and now I just love my little blog because of all the friends I've met! So fun! Hope you enjoy my little card tonite.

Short & Sweet

So has everyone checked out the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog yet? I sure hope you have, you wouldn't believe all of the exciting things that are going on behind the scenes and all of the fun stuff planned for Valentine's Day. There's going to be tones of tutorials and giveaways. We have to all do a tutorial and I'm planning on doing a Valentine's tin and matching card in early February. And I plan on adding all of the DT's links to my page, eventually...it might take me a few days, and when I do you need to check them out. Lots of talent and ideas!
OK, I did a card to post tonight but don't like how it turned out, so I'm sharing another scrapbook layout. This page is of my sweet girl Dalli.

She came to me abused, hungry, and needing a good home. I've almost had her a year now, and the change in her is amazing. She now walks with her head held high and knows she will never be treated poorly again. That's why I titled the page "Home Sweet Home" because she finally IS home. I used Colorbok and My Mind's Eye paper, My Mind's Eye chipboard letters, Heidi Swapp script date stamp, Fancy Pants stamps, and Prima flowers. Enjoy!

2 Sketches 4 You

Hi all! I'm really early this week with my 2 Sketches card!

This card came together so quick the other day, sometimes I get a burst of creativity, and sometimes I don't!!!

The base of this card is Colorbok paper that I covered with a transparent Hambley overlay - that's the swirly pink you see. Then I added Creative Imaginations and My Mind's Eye paper, with a My Mind's Eye journaling spot, Thickers, and a cute K & Co. rainbow. I have discovered during this card making journey I'm on that My Mind's Eye has my favorite paper, I tend to pick it a lot for my projects.

Well in other news, my black headed chicken is sick (she's featured in a previous post, in case you've not heard of her). Here's a picture of her, I cropped myself out because I looked terrible!!!

I think she's got a sprained foot. She puts no weight on the foot at all, so she's living in a little dog carrier right now to keep her calm and quiet. Tomorrow I'm going to try a warm Epsom salt soak for her little foot to take away some of the swelling - hope my Brother In Law doesn't mind me using his sink for a chicken spa!!! What he doesn't know won't hurt him!
I've got some exciting "scrappy" news to share later this week, but right now it's a secret! Stay tuned!

A Scrapbook Layout!

OK, just had to share the scrapbook layout I did the other day. It's probably been 5 months since I had done one. So now I'm pretty sure I'll never ever in a million years have my scrapbooking caught up. It's weird how I have gotten so accustomed to ONLY making card, the 12x12 layout looked so big! What was I to do with all that room???
My layout is in honor of my Hubby taking me to see Twilight. I had already seen it but I told him we needed a date night. He was so sick with a cold, but he was a trooper and we had dinner and a movie. Good news, his fever broke while he was eating some hot Mexican food. He looked like he was having a heat stroke right there at our table. Then we watched Twilight, which he said was an OK movie.
For my Twilight page I used DCWV and Creative Imaginations paper, with some Hambley journaling blocks, American Craft Thickers, and jewels.

Enjoy!!!
