DDSB Challenge - 3D

Hi all.  Time for a new challenge at the Digi Doodle Shop's Best.  This week ends my DT term with them.  Doesn't seem like I've been on the team 6 months already, time flies when you're crafting!  I have just loved getting to know Judy and her Mom (artists and owners of the Digi Doodle Shop) and all my DT friends!  Plus I have had the chance to practice and improve my coloring.  That was one of my weakest points and I think each week I improve a little.  It's fun to challenge yourself and take a weakness and work on it!

This week we are challenging you to make a 3D card.  Since this is my last DDSB card I had to use my favorite stamp from the Digi Doodle Shop - Strawberries:

I just love this stamp.  It reminds me of all the reasons Summer is my favorite time of the year.

To make my card 3D I made 2 copies of the stamp and colored them.  Then I cut out the strawberries and flowers and layered them on top of my other stamp with foam tape to make them 3D.

I added Papertrey Ink Cardstock and My Mind's Eye Patterened Papers.  My ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  And I used Copics and my Sakura Glitter Pen to color the image.  I painted around my digi with crackle paint.

Visit the Digi Doodle Shop to check out the sales and see their adorable stamps.  And visit the Digi Doodle Shop's Best to see the DT's darling creations!

Happy Easter???

Woot woot!  I finally scrapped an Easter page!  I'm only a few years behind, but I'll eventually get caught up.  I've got my box of 600 pictures sitting at my craft station...going thru them one photo at a time!

Here's my LO:

Love this patterned paper from Little Yellow Bicycle.  It was originally all yellow and white..with the flowers and leaves embossed on the paper.  So I took my Copics and Stickles and added a little color.  It totally changed the look of the paper, love it!  This is a picture of me and Hubs on Easter Sunday.  I'm was going thru a short hair phase, if you notice every picture I post my hair is a different length.  The other goodies I used on this LO are from Noel Mignon's September Kit "Sweet Sue".  Very adorable!

Had a crisis on the farm this week, one of my favorite chickens, Squabb, was very sick Saturday:

She has a very "hearty" appetite and when she didn't meet me in the barnyard for her snack of dry cat food I knew something was wrong.  I found her lying by herself...she couldn't walk and acted very weak.  I just knew she wouldn't make it.  I treated her with medicines and made her drink.  She was still lifeless that nite and wouldn't even go up on her roost or eat cheese (chickens love cheese).  I was certain we'd find a dead Squabb the next morning...

But guess what....

The next morning Squabb was on her little chicken feet and outside.  By today she was completely better.  Have no clue what was wrong with her or what part of her treatment might have helped.  I did learn one thing, you can even search "abnormal chicken poop" and find results on the internet!  Not pleasant, but amazing!

Barnyard Stories

Hi all and happy Saturday.  I wanted to share some creations I made using this month's Sampler Kit from Scrapbooking Supplies R Us.  Here's what the September Kit looks like:

A few years ago one of my horses, Delilah, had a little baby boy named Sammy.  I took tons of pictures, but hadn't scrapped any of them.  So when I saw this kit I knew it was time to get to work!  I used a little board book I had for my mini album.

I distressed the edges by adding Rangers Crackle Paint. All my embellishments are from the Sampler Kit.

This was such a special day!  Sammy was just born when we arrived and  he was a little mess.  It's amazing to watch animals with their baby's and see their motherly instincts.

These were little Sammy's first steps!  He was so wobbly.

And a few weeks after he was born.  Look how big his head looks on that little body!

This is Sammy now!  Isn't life amazing!  He's still got his little spots and we adore him.  Visit Scrapbooking Supplies R Us to check out the latest Sampler Kit!

PGP Fourth Friday Fun Challenge

Hi guys.  Time for a new challenge from Paper Garden Projects.  This month's challenge is to make a trick or treat project or card.  I used the amazing Candy Corn Clear Stamp Set available at PGP.

I also used one of the Clear Pillow Treat Boxes available at Paper Garden Projects.  This pillow box is super easy to work with and stays closed perfectly, no need for tape or glue dots.
Here is my project:

I intended to get darling candy corn to fill my pillow box for this picture....but as you can see I forgot!  So I filled it with buttons instead!  My cardstock is Prism, Copic Markers, and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge

Time for a new challenge at the Digi Doodle Shop's Best.  This week we want you to emboss something on your card.  I used the adorable Old Well stamp from the Digi Doodle Shop, it's one of my favorites.  Love all the little details.

And here is my card:

I embossed my Papertrey Ink Cardstock with my Cuttlebug and a Provo Craft Folder.  I lightly inked over the top of my embossing to make it a little greener than my cardstock.  I used my Spellbinder Nestabilities to cut out the darling blue background for my well.  I also used Copics.  And I added some fabric and twine from Etsy.

My Mind's Eye Blog Challenge 15

I love My Mind's Eye products. I've been addicted to their papers for years. So when I "finally" discovered their blog and challenges I was tickled pink. Today I'm playing along with their latest sketch challenge. Follow the sketch and scrap a "thank you" Lo.

Here's the sketch:

And here is my LO:

I did a "thank you" LO of my Papaw. Today also happens to be his 81st birthday! He is the definition of a good man. Loves God, his family, funny, trustworthy, and dependable. I've never doubted that he'd be there for me. I have a terrible time keeping my eyes open for pictures and I think they were about closed in this one! All of my paper and die cuts are My Mind's Eye.

Enjoy!!!

Now for my project.  I have loved all the goodies I've got to play with this month from the Paper Garden Projects Store!  And Cathy just keeps adding more fantastic craft supplies to PGP.  My creation is focused on one of the main reminders that it's almost time to Trick Or Treat - Candy Corn!

I used the adorable Candy Corn Clear Stamp Set available at PGP.  The details are just amazing, one of my favorite stamp sets I've ever used.

Cute stamps and sentiments in one package!  And now for my card:

Candy Corn is the star of the card!  I also made a matching treat tin filled with scrapbooking goodies as a gift for one of my crafty friends.

For my project I used Stickles, Square Tin, Copics, Prism Cardstock, and Stamps all available for purchase at Paper Garden Projects.  I loved adding Stickles to the Candy Corn, really made it sparkle.

Swim Lessons

Hi everyone!  Hope you are all having a terrific week.  I have a LO to share tonight of my new little duck.  He/She doesn't have a name yet, because we don't know if it's a boy or a girl.  My father in-law wants to name it Squidworth...not too sure about  that one!  I also have 4 new turkeys and plan to name them after Twilight characters when I'm able to tell if they're boys/girls.  So we may have an Edward, Jacob, and Squidworth running around the barnyard soon!  The only problem I have at the moment is the duck thinks it's a turkey, but I'll figure out how to fix that problem later.

My LO tonight was made with goodies from September's Sampler Kit.  It is available at Scrapbooking Supplies R Us and is full of trendy supplies.

Here is my LO:

Isn't it just the cutest baby duck in the world?  OK maybe I'm showing a bit of favortism!  Since it thinks it's a turkey I got the kiddie pool out (use during droughts for our adult ducks) and tried to teach little Squidworth how to swim...guess what, he already knew how.  Isn't nature marvelous???  Right after these pictures he jumped out of the pool and made a mad dash for the turkeys.

Hopefully I'll be doing more LO's in the future because I finally printed my pictures off my camera disk...all 600 and some!  Can you say slacker???

Visited Scrapbooking Supplies R Us to get your Sampler Kit and check out their fabulous store!
