If The Shoe Fits

Hi guys!  Time for a new challenge from If The Shoe Fits...Scrap It.  This week we're thinking "roses".  This month we're celebrating June's birth flower - the rose.  So make a project and use roses, rose colors, rose papers, the possibilities are endless.  I also entered this little card in the following challenges:

Stampavie and More #145 - Butterflies
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge - Pile on those flowers.
Color Throwdown #147 -

And here is my card:

I used Papertrey Ink Stamps, Prima Flowers, My Mind's Eye Patterned Paper.  I used my Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch and lace from Crate Paper.  Visit The Shoe to see the Design Teams take on our rosie challenge and play along!

Now who wants to see a new picture of my Silkies???  They are growing up, love these little guys.

Aren't they adorable?  And they stay so very clean.  They love to stay in our "community center" of the day and come out in the barnyard of the evening when the shades over.

This week has been a happy one.  My turkey Shanana hatched 2 baby turkeys, so everyone's tickled about that.  I got Shanana last Autumn.  She obviously had it rough and we think she lived most of her life confined to a cage.  She has to be the ugliest turkey I've ever seen, but she can't help that.  Now she's a Momma.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right???  She's so proud of her 2 baby turkeys and I couldn't be more pleased.  She's an excellent mother and I'm so happy we've given her the life she deserves and to never be in a cage again.   Will keep you updated on her wee ones.

The Beauty of Autumn

OK, so I'm behind a few months.  Finally got my Fall pictures developed, thank you SnapFish!  Love the quality of my pictures and the colors.  So I have a few LO's to share tonite.

My first LO is from my nephew Logan's first hunting trip.  He begged my Hubby to take him hunting.  Matt's not obsessed with hunting, like some men, but he does enjoy going a couple of times a year.  Logan wanted to go squirrel hunting.  Now anyone who knows me understands that I don't uphold killing small, furry, defenseless animals.  But I do understand that over population does cause disease.  I went squirrel hunting once with Matt.  I shot at 1 squirrel, he got away, and I was traumatized for life.  I often think what the poor little thing looked like at the end of my gun barrel....it upset me much more than it did him.  Enough stories, here's the LO:

Up next is a Thanksgiving LO I did:

This is Thanksgiving at my Papaw's.  I used Noel Mignon's "Dear Diary" Kit on both LO's.  Autumn is probably my least favorite time of the year, because Winter is next!  But I love working with the darling Autumn colors!

Got a few pictures to share tonite.  Since I'm already talking about Thanksgiving, lets talk turkeys.  Remember my turkeys I hatched in an incubator in July.  Well my 3 Tom's (male turkeys) are all grown up and struttin' their stuff.

They are constantly strutting and gobbling.  When you get near the barnyard they start gobbling, I'm sure they're saying "about time, we're ready for a snack."  These guys are great pets and we love them.  Speaking of pets, my local newspaper is having a "Cutest Pet" contest.  I know I have A LOT of pets, so how do I pick one.  Since we have to submit a picture, I decided to pick the pet that is in one of my all time favorite pictures, and the winner is Freddy the Donkey!

He loves treats.  That's what he's after in this picture and I love his little pearly whites!  Looks like dentures!  So if you have time, I'd love your vote.  Just follow this link to vote for "Freddy the Miniature Donkey".  Voting is from February 7th to February 23rd.

Thanks!
