The Sampler Sketch Challenge

This week Scrapbooking Supplies R Us is having a new sketch challenge.  Take a look at the cute sketch:

This month I got to play with the adorable December kit from The Sampler.  Oh it's a beauty, loaded with Crate Paper, AC, and Jillibean Soup.

The kit is darling.  Love the bright Wintery papers and embellishments.  So for my LO I decided to scrap the barnyard during a snowfall.

When I first looked at the sketch, I thought "ok, I need 5 pictures."  Then I decided to cut out squares from a Hambley Overlay to make little snowy windows instead of adding that many pictures.  I used my Spellbinder's Nestabilities and Cuttlebug to cut out the perfect squares.  These pictures are 2 of my favorites.  Someone told me I needed to enlarge and frame the horses and donkey picture in old barn wood.  And Mr. Kitty taking it easy on the snow always makes me smile!

I journaled directly onto my tickets.  And look at those adorable letters!  Dear Lizzy from America Crafts.  Visit Scrapbooking Supplies R Us to snatch up your December Sampler Kit today.

Now since this week is Christmas I wanted to share a few pictures of my Christmas Tree.  This year I went with a skinny tree and love it.

Simple yet pretty and it doesn't take up much space.

This is what happens when you take a picture of your Christmas tree and have your camera set on the wrong mode.  I kinda like this picture, could you have guessed what it was?

Creative Charms + The Ardent Sparrow

This year I'm taking part in a fun gift exchange at The Ardent Sparrow. It is the first annual Christmas Gift Exchange where pretty packaging is a must. I decided to use some of the beautiful embellishments from Creative Charms to dress up my gift.  This month I got to play with the December Kit of the Month at Creative Charms, Nouveaux Vintage.  It is adorable and sales for $14.99 (125 pieces!).

Here is my card:

This little card took about 10 minutes to make.  I am in love with doilies!  They make everything so fun!  And my Vintage Velvet Poppy from Creative Charms was the perfect addition!

Here are the glassine and brown paper bags I added to my present, with scrappy goodness inside!

Very simple and the packaging can be recycled to use again.  And now for gift box:

Everything coordinates and this package was so simple to put together, thanks to Creative Charms.  Visit there store now to get your own Nouveaux Vintage Kit and visit the Creative Charms Blog today for creative packaging ideas and more.

Brrrrr...

***Edited***Exciting news!  Scrapbooking Supplies R Us has announced the next Design Team for The Sampler.  I'm so honored to have been inivted to be a part of the team again!  Check out the Design Team Announcement here.

Cold and snowy!  That's the name of the game here in Kentucky.  My thermometer is reading 12 degrees and we're expecting "another" snow and ice storm tomorrow nite.  Is it too early to start wishing for Spring?

Have a Christmas LO to share using my December Kit from The Sampler

This is my nephew Logan a few years ago opening presents.  I love scrapbooking on white paper, the finished look is so neat and clean.  I went a little Stickles crazy on my LO, but you can never have enough glitter.

Next up is a better picture of the Christmas wreath I made.  So fun and easy:

It's looking more and more like we're in for a white Christmas this year!  I'll keep you posted.

Enjoy!!!

Random Ramblings

Hi all!  Who's ready for Chrismas?  I'm "almost" there, got a few last minute presents and I'm ready to go.  Instead of  a "White Christmas" we are having a "White December" this year.  Snow from last week still hasn't melted and we're suppose to have 5-8 inches of snow by Tuesday then more snow and ice Thursday/Friday.  I'm all for a little snow, but I didn't sign up for this much : )

Got some iPhone pictures to share tonite.  They're always random and fun, that's why I enjoy them.  Thought I'd share.

First up, my sweet schnoodle Gracie.  Love her!  She's all decked out in her turkey bandana...going to Thanksgiving at my Papaw's.

Up next, some pretty red and white felt roses I made.

And how did this cute guy get into the pictures???  My Hubby hates hats like this, so I talked him into trying it on and took a picture.  He's strictly a Bass Pro Shop or UK cap guy.  My favorite thing about this, the big 70% off sign in the back, hehe!  Bargin shopper.

Now you're probably wondering what I did with those fabulously crafty roses, take a look.

Do you ever get lost when your blog hopping?  I love any type of crafty blog so one nite I was looking around and ended up lost...and found the tutorial to make this wreath.  Too bad I didn't save the site to favorites, can't remember where I was.  But all you have to do is wrap fabric around a styrofoam wreath, letting it overlap, and glue with your hot glue gun.  Then I added a few Christmas ornaments, felt roses, and jingle bells...all done!  Will take a better picture and post it later.

Now for some of my favorite blogs to visit, thought you might enjoy them!

And...

life in grace

Enjoy!!!

Christmas Goodies & Winners

Hi all.  Is your Christmas shopping done?  Thankfully I'm almost finished, just have to complete a few handmade gifts.  We woke up to a little snow this morning and we're suppose to get our first "real" snowfall today.  The chickens aren't too happy about the cold weather, but the horses love it.

Now for my list of winners from the Sampler Blog Hop:

Cathy @ Paper Garden Projects
pdrnc
Scrappnbee

I've sent in my winner's list for The Sampler Blog Hop.  You should be notified soon!

I've got a LO to share with you tonite from December's Sampler Kit from Scrapbooking Supplies R Us.  Last Christmas was rough, we had a "big" snowfall.  Most of my family couldn't make it to Christmas at my Papaw's and the one's of us that did were in for a treat, no electricity.  It was freezing.  So we have big coats on in most of our Christmas pictures.  It's definitely a Christmas memory I won't forget anytime soon and it made the perfect scrapbook page.

Visit Scrapbooking Supplies R Us to get your Sampler kit!  My beautiful jeweled brads I used for my flowers are from Creative Charms.  Enjoy!!!

Tag, You're It!

Hi all.  Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and ate enough turkey!  It's time for a new 4th Friday Challenge from Paper Garden Projects.  This week we're thinking tags!  Make a tag or a project containing a tag to be eligable for a prize.

Here's my tag:

Tags are adorable on presents, but they also make great ornaments and show off your stamping skills : )  I used Snow Happy Stamp Set from Impression Obsessions available at Paper Garden Projects.  I also used Copics, button, Stickles and ribbon available at PGP.

I inked around the edges of my tag and then inked my actual tag very lightly.  Next I stamped my image and colored it, then crinkled my entire tag.  Lastly, I added Stickles for some bling.

Visit Paper Garden Projects to play along with the 4th Friday Challenge and have a chance to win a fabulous prize.

While you visit, take note of each designer's name and their special holiday treat in their blog post. Once you finish your garden tour, send an E-mail to custserv@papergardenprojects.com with the list of designers and their holiday treat.

Everyone who sends the correct list of designers and decorations will be entered in a random drawing to win a prize. You need to send an e-mail to the address above; please don't leave your list as a comment. You have until midnight (EST) on Wednesday, November 24 to send your list.

For the prize? Any 4 digital stamp sets of your choice, including the new Christmas Foliage set.

Now for my creations.  This month I got to play with the adorable Snow Happy Stamp Set from Impression Obsession and available at Paper Garden Projects

I just loved inking the corners of this card and my sentiment to make it look rustic and aged.  I used Copics, Stickles, Prism Cardstock, and ribbon all available at Paper Garden Projects.

My second card uses the same supplies.  I went a little glitter crazy, but love the finished product.

Here is a list of the hop order:

Cathy
Amber (that's me!!!)
Tangii
Linda
Andrea
Alyssa

Now for my special word - oatmeal cookies.

Up next on the hop is Tangii's wonderful blog.  Enjoy!!!

This is my Baby Gracie and Jake Jake playing in the snow with Hubby.  Gracie, my Schnoodle, was having a blast.  It looks like she has wool pants on, hehe!  All of my supplies are avaliable in the November Sampler Kit.  My Jack Russell Jake loves snow...but after a few minutes he's ready to come inside and put his Snuggie on!  Last Winter all we had were endlesssssss snow storms, so this LO is near and dear to my heart and sums up last November to February.

Bo Bunny Love

I decided to show some Bo Bunny love this week by doing 2 challenges from the Bo Bunny Blog.  First up is their Layout Challenge:

And next up is the challenge to do a LO and scrap yourself.  So using some of my Bo Bunny stash, here's my creation:

I usually don't scrap myself, but once I got going it was really fun.  My patterned papers are all Bo Bunny.  Pom Pom ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbon.  And cute little tag boxes are Elle's Studio.

It seems like every picture I take, my hair is a different length and a different shade of blonde, lol!  Ah, isn't it fun to be a girl???

Now a little reminder:

Fun Fun Fun.  And a great prize, you'll have to wait till Saturday to find out.  Plus on Saturday I'm also participating in the Scrapbooking Supplies R Us - Sampler Blog Hop.  There will be a total of 16 prizes that includes 5 full kits.

Enjoy!!!

Christmas Time Already???

This is sure to be a busy month...Lots of crafting deadlines, Thanksgiving, a vacation (yippee), and plenty of Christmas shopping.  November always makes me reflect on all I have to be thankful for, which is a long list.  God has been VERY good to me!  I think I'm most thankful that He has blessed me with a simple life.  I thrive on farm life.  Love every second of it, even though some aren't easy.  We lost my little duck Cornbread this week, not easy!  But it's a comfort to know he had the best life possible while he was here.  I'm sure there aren't many ducks who have a skillet of cornbread made for them each nite.  Living on a farm, you learn to give and take, but I wouldn't change things for the world.

I love this picture of my goats.  They are so happy and carefree.  That's how we all should be.  My little goat Cinnamon (in the front) almost died TWICE this year!  We've started saying she has 9 lives!  I'm very thankful she's still with us and as happy as ever.

And I have a new Winter Goal.  I want to learn to sew.  I'm a crafty person, why do I destroy every sewing machine I look at?  There are so many fabulous sewing blogs and I REALLY want to learn.  Check out Cluck.Cluck. Sew.  Too cute!

So wish me luck, I'll need it.

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge

Hi all....decided to play along with this week's challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You.  Here's the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

I used Basic Grey patterned paper, my Fiskars punch, and Papertrey Ink stamp.  My bling, ric rac, and leaf are all from Creative Charms Kit of the Month - Fabulous Fall.  Love all the goodies included in this kit!

Now I want to introduce you to the newest member of the barn yard, Brisco:

Is he not the cutest little guy in the world???  He is a Great Pyrenees and our "goat dog in training".  Boots our older GP is so happy to have a puppy all of her own!  Brisco weighed in at 20 lbs at his 9 week vet visit.  He's going to be a BIG BOY!
