The Exploding Box

Hi all!  Time for a new challenge at Made Especially For You.  This week you're in for a real challenge - make an exploding box.  OK so when I first heard this challenge I thought, no way I can make that!  I never get measurments right, always leave an inch off here and there...and paper projects like these usually end up in the garbage.  But I was persistant and LOVE the end result. This week our Sponsor is:

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is giving one winner an exploding box ornament kit!  Visit Lindsay's Stamp Stuff at My Grafico to check out all of her great digi goodies.  Now for my exploding box.  I followed this tutorial at A Cherry On Top and here's what I created:

I used lots of pretty patterned papers to decorate my box.  My stamps are Inspired By Stamping - Winter Wonderland.  I made my flowers and leaves from fabric scraps.

The inside of my box is a mix and matach of different papers, brown bags, fabric, library cards and pockets.  I plan to fill my box with pictures from this Christmas after the holidays.

To make the flowers I simply swirled pieces of fabric, twisting it around my finger and stitching it to hold the shape.

I stamped different colored snowflakes everywhere.  I used Stickles on the biggest snowflake to add some sparkle.  My leaves are also fabric and I used glue dots to adhere the leaves to the flowers.

Thanks for visiting!  Visit Made Especially For You to see the Design Teams exploding boxes.  You're sure to find plenty of inspiration!
