Beautiful Saturday

By the end of most of my vacations I need a vacation. Today I went and visited my dear friend who is having a baby boy and is due on October 31st. We had a wonderful visit, she insisted I bring my scrapbooks and we looked at a ton of pictures. Then hubby and I went to Natural Bridge, it is located in one of our state parks in Kentucky. It is a natural bridge on top of a mountain that links 2 mountains together. You ride a sky lift up to it and it was just beautiful today. The weather was perfect and the trees were beautiful.

And then when I got home I had another treat waiting on me in the mailbox. My Papercrafts magazine "Cards, Gifts, and More" that I won for WCMD had arrived.

It is loaded with inspiring creations. Teri Anderson, who's blog I won the magazine from, has several cards in it. The magazine had this great cupcake template that was too cute, so I decided to make a cupcake birthday card. It would have been prettier with glitter and more stamping, but I was just too sleepy! Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday! Enjoy.

Clean Sweep

OK, so cleaning and organizing isn't something I love to do. At least it was a rainy day and I didn't waste any "outside time" inside. We added some new cabinets and a shelf to my scrapbook room and rearranged everything. My problem is, I can't throw away any of my old scrapbook stuff. For example - this is a picture of my first punch I ever bought, probably around 1998 or 1999. I can't throw anything away, what if I need it or it would be the perfect embellishment for my page.

So there are no cards to post tonight, seeing that I wouldn't know where to start looking for my favorite supplies. I will leave you with one last picture. While I was cleaning I looked up, and Gracie (my schnoodle) was in the window. Not sure if she was trying to jump and get out of my mess or enjoying the fresh air:)

Love is in the air!

Tonight when I finally sit down in my scrapbook room I got my Christmas paper out and was ready to kick off the holiday...at least I thought I was ready - but to my surprise I picked Valentine's Day instead of Christmas! I must be feeling the love, because I made 2 "love" cards. And I also got a little treat today. Many scrapping bloggers were giving away a special issue of Paper Crafts magazine for WCMD called "Card, Gifts, and More." Well guess what, I won an issue! Head on over and check out Teri's great blog where I won my issue http://terisplace.wordpress.com. Hope you enjoy my cards tonight!

Sweet Vacation

Well this week I am on vacation and have plans! And guess what they are? To redo my scrapbook room! OK so I am a messy scrapper, terribly messy. The rest of my house is picture perfect, but as soon as company comes my hubby runs to shut my scrapbook room's door. So we took a trip to Lowes today and are ready to get to work this week. So before I have to start organizing I thought I would post 2 cards, they were pretty simple but cute. I'm also posting a picture of the cutest little baby deer that was in our goat pasture today. I think it thinks it's a goat:) I have seen it there before and was planning to go looking for it, but it found me first. Enjoy.

World Card Making Day

Happy World Card Making Day! This event has been really fun for me this year. I have a friend who has never tried card making, so I bought her a little card starter kit and we made some cards and had a good time. I'm still loving the felt. Not sure how many more things I can think of to make with it though! I've glued, sewed, inked, cut, and I'm about out of ideas! The cards I'm posting tonight are in honor of WCMD. My favorite - the skull card! It's just so different and I love the Love Elsie line of products and a pink skull is just too cute. Hope you enjoy them. Introduce someone to card making this week, they just might love it!

Happy Shopping

Today my hubby and I were going to a local festival "Apple Days" when he asked a dangerous question...do you want to go to the hobby lobby (craft store). Well Apple Days was all but forgotten and I had a wonderful time buying all kinds of fun scrapbook and card making supplies. Guess that was my treat for World Card Making Day! So in honor of the event I made 3 cards tonight. 2 using felt, yes - it's just so easy I love the stuff. Got a great Fiskars scallop punch today, I just can't get enough of scallops. But I have to be honest. These last few months I have been neglecting my scrapbooking, so I've gotta start catching up on my pages soon. Guess I'll have to balance 2 hobbies now. So in honor of World Card Making Day I challenge you to make a card, any kind of card, whether you're crafty or not...you might just find a new hobby that you love. And I just want to thank everyone for feedback on the stuff I make, I love hearing what everyone thinks:)

Felt Fun

Today was just beautiful. I had a wonderful time at the barn, spending time with the animals. Sammy our baby pony was just adorable today. He is getting a little chubby. The sky was so blue with a few puffy clouds lazily passing by, just lovely. It was a great day to be in Kentucky.

I've been working on a challenge on Melissa Phillips blog using felt. Who knew Wal-Mart even sold felt. Well I love it. You can make anything with felt, it's sturdy enough to sew and paint. I made 2 cards, one using a traced leaf made of felt that I stitched and embellished. The second card has Heidi Swapp felt butterflies attached. There are ideas brewing in my mind of felt Christmas trees!
