Moxie Fab world is having the cutest challenge this week and I just had to make a card! You see, the challenge is to find inspiration in pictures of party dresses in honor of New Years. So here's the picture that inspired me:
And this is what I created:
I used a Creative Imaginations overlay on white cardstock. Then I used my Storybook Cricut cartridge to create the "09" and the flourish behind a Heidi Swapp clock. I took little stamps to stamp "Happy New Year" and that's it. Very easy.
I tried to upload my project to the Moxie Fab group at Creating Keepsakes, but their website refuses to let me upload, so I gave up and posted it here:)
Well guess what I'm reading again, Twilight. I know, I sound like every female in America, but I just love the Twilight books...if you've not read them I strongly encourage you to. It's just the best love story. I have kinda been in a reading slump, nothing I pick up interests me...and then I decided to try rereading Twilight, and it's just as good now as the first time! And I never ever reread a book. My hubby said "you're reading those old vampire books again." I think he may be a LITTLE jealous of Edward!
Enjoy my card...

Post-Christmas Brain Block
How could it be? I have all these new fun gadgets to use for my crafts and no ideas! I think it's just a post-Christmas brain block. You are kinda just out there, it's still not the new year, but Christmas is long gone...you wanna make Valentine's, but don't want them to sit there for weeks before sending them! Could I be dreaming of Easter bunnies already? We've had a few really warm days and that's got me looking forward to spring, but I have to keep in mind that winter has just begun. So what am I going to do to change this mood? I've been thinking of joining a kit club, how fun for a box to arrive at my house each month filled with all the latest goodies? Sounds dreamy to me!
But despite the block I had to make a card today...one for my dear friend's birthday. I used the "Happily Ever After" Cricut Cartridge, my Cuttlebug, and a pretty orange Prima flower...because orange is her favorite color and it stands out, just like she does! Hope she likes it!

2 Sketches & a Merry Christmas
Hi all! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It seems like I've been celebrating the holidays for a week now with all the different places and family we visit this time of year. I've not had the time to do much scrapping lately, but that doesn't mean I've not been thinking about it! I feel like the New Year gives me a fresh start with crafting, put away all of my Christmas stamps, and try new and different things. I got a Cuttlebug for Christmas (thanks Mom) and do I ever love it! It's just amazing how that little machine does that! I recommend it to anyone who likes to make cards, it's so easy to emboss!
OK, so I just had to fit a 2 Sketches card in this week. Here's the sketch:
And here's my take on the layout:
First, I used my Cuttlebug to emboss some pretty My Mind's Eye paper. I then inked some of the embossing with white Martha Stewart ink to give it some depth. I used Prima Flowers, Michaels ribbon, Fiskars scallop punch, and Thickers for the title. I used glue dots to put everything in place and then curled the edges of my paper to make it look vintage. Very fun and easy.
In other news, my little kitten is all better and moved back to the barn. When did I realize she couldn't be a house cat....well when Jake and Gracie ran her up my Christmas tree is one example! She was as happy as pie to be back at the barn and the chickens were tickled also.
Hope you enjoy my card. Merry Christmas!!!!

Houston, we have a problem!
It's been a long long long week! We have had a sick kittten! Yes little Suzie Q has had a terrible upper respiratory infection and we didn't think she was going to make it. But with good vet care and Matt nursing her back to health while I had to work, I'm happy to say she's now ok...and she has moved in with us. She's our newest little resident in the Goble house. My little nephew loves her...we let him babysit. Here's a couple of pictures of her from yesterday.
And now, you'll never believe what Santa left under my Christmas tree!
I'm so excited! And I have the best hubby in the world!
No new creations tonight. Will post more this week!

2 Sketches 4 You
It has been a nasty wet day here in Kentucky. It has rained the entire day. I kept waiting for the rain to stop to go and check our mail, well guess what, it didn't stop. So I went to get the mail anyway and got soaked (guess I should have used an umbrella!). Took my little dog Jake with me and of course he went thru every mud puddle he could find...he's a little meanie sometimes! I made some chicken chowder this evening, it is so tasty and pretty that I had to take a picture. It will warm you up on a cold day. It is an Amish recipe and so easy.
Already done with my 2 Sketches 4 You card this week, is anyone impressed I'm so early? I am! Seems like I take all week thinking about what I'm going to create! But this week the card came together in minutes and I just love when that happens, because it is a rare thing! I used Colorbok, Melissa Frances, and DCWV paper, K&Co. and Making Memories Embellishments, Michaels Ribbon, and buttons. I loved this week's sketch, thought it was fun and a design I can use over and over.
This weekend is Christmas with my family. I have sooooo much wrapping to do, but I can't wait to deliver all of the gifts....they are everywhere! My Hubby has begged me to go ahead and let us open our presents to eachother (could it be because of that flat screen TV he's getting???). I refuse though, we're waiting till Christmas Eve! Hope you enjoy my little card:)

Oh Happy Day!
This morning was absolutely beautiful! My snow melted, it was partly cloudy, and warm! 60 degrees! Well I got a bit of Spring fever and headed for my little barn to snap a few pictures, because I knew an ice storm was coming this way for tonight. So here's a picture of our newest addition. Her name is Suzie Q. We got her from the animal shelter, they said when her litter came in they were in bad shape and covered in fleas. Now she's just a little bundle of joy. She's not sure what to make of the chickens yet.
I think the chickens are trying to babysit Suzie Q. They don't let her out of their site.
This chicken we call "Old Black Headed Chicken" because in case you didn't notice her head is black. We laugh because she's never hatched baby chicks or even tried to sit on a nest of eggs. Her favorite pastime is sneaking thru the little cat door on the side of the barn and eating cat food! She's not worth a dime but we love her dearly!
Here is a picture of the hens taking it easy on this nice warm morning.
And this is Smoky, my little horse Matt got me for Easter in 2006. I've always wanted a horse and about fell over when he brought Smoky to me. I'm pretty sure he will NEVER be able to top that gift! Smoky's a little fuzzy right now because he has his winter coat. I think he has Tina Turner hair!
Now wouldn't it be nice if I posted something scrappy! I've moved on to Valentine's Day already! That didn't take long, did it? This little card was made with Colorbok paper and my Papertrey Ink Stamps (that I love). I used a Prima flower and some Stickles. It says "Sweetie Pie".
Now on to a bigger project. I had thought about making a little Christmas tree with a Styrofoam cone, but decided to make a Valentine's Day tree instead! First I covered the foam with pink felt then used my Cricut to cut out a bunch of pink hearts (I only used scrap paper I had in my stash). I covered the tree with bigger hearts and then stuck the smaller hearts all over it so they'd stand out. I used stick pins to attach small Prima flowers and added some buttons. The topper is just a simple bow with some Michaels ribbon. It is so cute sitting on my desk!
Hope you enjoy my little glimpse of Spring!

2 Sketches 4 You
Well I've been missing in action from my blog lately! I'm a blog slacker! Between work, jury duty, adopting a new kitty from the animal shelter, and Christmas shopping - well there's been no time! But I did wake up bright and early this morning to complete my 2 Sketches card for the week.
I used Me and My Big Ideas and Colorbok paper, American Craft Thickers, and K & Co. Embellishments, with some Michaels ribbon. This card was super easy.
Well time to go back to bed:) Enjoy.

Let It Snow!
It is snowing tonite in Kentucky and so peaceful. Each year I help my Mother In-Law make some Christmas treats...so that was tonite. We made cinnamon, root beer, and raspberry hard candy. It's so fun because you have to play in powder sugar and twist the candy then break it. Then we made homemade party mix. It's so good and better than the stuff you get at the grocery store! Tomorrow we're FINALLY putting the tree up.
Well I'm back to making more Christmas cards, but it's a little different! I used Colorbok and Making Memories paper, Martha Stewart Ink and Glitter, My Mind's Eye embellishments, Michaels $1 stamp, and who likes my pink snowflake? I cut it out on pink felt, glittered it, and added some pearly paint....felt is just so easy to work with!
That's all tonite, enjoy my card:)

A Little Something Yellow
I rarely use yellow in my cards, even though I love the color. Yellow is one of those colors that I'm just not sure what goes with it, am I going to use a primary color yellow or a pastel? Oh so many questions. But today, Cosmo Cricket made it easy for me...who has seen their Hello Sunshine line? It's just adorable and makes me want to smile. So of course it inspired a card.
Who has been to Moxie Fab World lately? If you haven't been there, it's definitely "Favorite List" worthy. The host of this blog is the Creative Editor at Paper Crafts Magazine! If you are wanting to see one of your cards published, look to the left of Moxie Fab's blog...it has a current call for submissions. I sent in a few cards, who knows unless you try...right?
Been making some pink felt snowflakes today...see I really am tired of red and green:)

2 Sketches - Laura's Sketch14
I'm an early bird this week! Already done with my 2 Sketches card. It just amazes me how different people interpret a sketch, that's the fun of scrapping for me. Every one has their own unique ideas and no two people are going to scrap alike....and you are never wrong, no matter what you make.
So here's a look at Laura's sketch this week:
This week's card is a happy, Springy, pastel card. I'm sick and tired of red and green and Santa! I used Colorbok and K & Co. paper, Cosmo Cricket stickers, Melissa Frances letters, stickles, Sandy Lion Stamps, Copic Markers, Martha Stewart Ink, and The Paper Studio gems.
And I've kinda discovered a little secret (I'm probably the only person that didn't know!). When you take pictures of your cards from odd angles you get really pretty shots and hardly any blurring. So that's what these next two pictures are, me experimenting.
If you've noticed, many of Melissa Phillips pictures of crafts are at odd angles, so that's what got me thinking....maybe I have too much time on my hands:) Enjoy!

Flowers
If anyone has visited Anabelle O'Malley's blog lately, I'm sure you've see those beautiful little flowers she's been making for embellishments. Well she has made it easy for all of us to make that same little flower, just go here and read her tutorial! Super easy and cute! So I decided tonite was the nite, I was going to make the pretty little flower, and I did.
On this card I used some Melissa Frances and Colorbok paper, Michael's ribbon, Colorbok Chipboard, and some glitter glue, button, and hemp. I love glitter but I'm not a big fan of the mess glitter makes. So I took some glitter glue and a small art brush and painted it over my flower to give it some shine. Plus I had no mess, when I do this technique all I have to do is wash my paint brush out.
Who's been working on Christmas cards? I have inked and trimmed til I'm tired of Christmas already! I'm surprised the turn my cards took this year, was really inspired by last week's sketch at 2 Sketches....but everyone will have to wait and see! And tomorrow, I'm pulling out the embossing powder! Talk about messy! I have to wait til the cards are mailed and hopefully received before I can post!
Enjoy!

2 Sketches 4 You challenge
Happy "Black Friday" everyone! So who braved the cold and the crowds to shop? Meeeee! It was absolutely crazy, but I loved every minute of it. Found great sales and had a good time.
My 2 Sketches card this week is another "Joy" card. Seems like every Christmas card I make has the word JOY on it. I used my Papertrey Ink stamps, SEI chipboard, My Mind's Eye Chipboard and embellishments, and Hobby Lobby paper.
I really enjoyed this week's sketch, very pretty.
Well I'm off to rest. I've been a Christmas present wrapping machine today, had to double wrap all of Hubby's gifts (he's a peeper). Enjoy!

CPS Challenge
I've been trying to finish all of my weekly sketch challenges today since I probably won't have a lot of extra time the rest of the week. My CPS sketch this week was fun. I love the swirly gold and ivory paper I used, had been saving it (for what, who knows?) but decided it was time to break it out! I used Basic Grey, Sandy Lion, and My Mind's Eye papers, K & Co. Chipboard, Melissa Frances stickers, and an Autumn Leaves stamp with my trusty Martha Stewart Ink.
Really loved the CPS layout this week, even if you don't play along you need to check out their blog, they have layouts you can use again and again.
Now for a funny story. I think it's time I cleaned my desk that I scrap on! My house is clean, my scrapbook room is even clean, but the desk looks like a bomb hit it. When I buy new stuff I like to leave it out on my desk and I end up surrounded by piles and I don't even know what's what. So tonite I made a little 3x3 card, it was such a cute little birthday card and I just loved it. Well when it came time to scan the little card, it was no where to be seen! I've looked everywhere, the little card is missing. My only solution is the dogs must have liked it and kept it for themselves:) Maybe someday I will find the little card, and when I do I will show it to you.
Oh and one more thing. I did go see Twilight and LOVED it!
Enjoy!

The holidays are here!
Can't believe this week is Thanksgiving! But I'm ready, can't wait to eat turkey and dressing, cake and homemade rolls. I'm planning on bringing homemade dressing (thanks to my Mother in-law) and a Smores cake to my family dinner. Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holiday, so simple...you just get to be thankful. I'm most thankful this year for my Papaw. He's had a few rough years, was a coal miner and now has bad lungs. He's been in and out of hospitals for a couple of years now and had a heart attack in January. We were worried sick, he had many complications when he was in the hospital...but I'm happy to say that was his last hospitalization of the year so far. He has to wear oxygen, but besides that he is a happy man who knows God has taken care of him. I'm so thankful he's a part of my life and I just love spending time with him and talking to him. You can learn so much from the elderly. I love hearing about when his brothers were sent to fight in World War II and his stories about the Great Depression. He is a blessing from God and knowing him makes me a better person.
OK, now on to my scrapbook card of the night. It's a Christmas card that I love because it has pink in it. I just love nontraditional Christmas cards with unexpected colors. I used Provo Craft and Hobby Lobby paper, My Mind's Eye stickers and chipboard, Martha Stewart Ink, K & Co. brads, and a button with some hemp.
My next project of the night was transforming a plain cookie tin into a masterpiece:) I covered it with SEI paper, used Martha Stewart ribbon and hemp, and a Creative Imaginations sticker tag. Just a few glue dots here and a little help from my Crop-a-Dile, and tada...my festive cookie tin.
Enjoy!

Brrrrrrrrrr, it's cold!
Hi all. I can't remember a November that's ever been this cold in Kentucky! It feels like January. So who's been to see the movie Twilight? I'm finally going tomorrow, can't wait. Hope I'm not disappointed! But I don't think any movie could ever beat the book.
My card tonight is kinda different. I made it with Colorbok cardstock, Melissa Frances tag sticker, Martha Stewart ribbon, and hemp....and drum roll please....can anyone tell what the polka dots are made of? FELT! I'm telling you felt is the best stuff! The dots were so easy, just cut them out and stick a glue dot on the back and I was good to go. And they have dimension, which I love. I think the card is prettier in person, but didn't want to take the time to scan it so I just took a quick picture.
OK now I have 2 pictures that have nothing to do with scrapbooking! First off, a picture of my dear ducks. They were so happy Friday morning in the snow! I just love them, I've had them almost 2 years. A friend of mine bought them for her daughter for Easter and once they started growing she didn't know what to do with them. I told her I'd be tickled pink to have them, and the rest is history. I've read that many people don't like the white ducks as pets because they are "mouthy". When they are hungry, mad, anything....they start quacking. When the girl duck gets mad she runs and lets the boy have it, quacking up a storm...kinda like we do to our husbands!
My next picture is my baby, Jake, cuddled by the fire. I adopted him from Petfinder in 2004. He was a stray with a skin condition and a collar that was about to cut into his little neck...now he is perfectly healthy with no skin condition. All it took was a little TLC. Over 100 people turned him down his foster Mommy said because of the health problems, but I'm glad because we got the best little buddy in the world!
So the moral of the story is adopt your next pet, they are wonderful and thankful for all you do for them!
And one last thing, if you want a chance to win some serious blog candy, go to Debbie's blog! Not only is she super talented (take a look at some of her creations) but she is also giving away a bunch of goodies! Enjoy.

Tag, You're It!
I've been tagged by my wonderful blog buddy Annette to share a little about myself. OK there's my Rule #1.
Here is #2, 7 random facts about myself:
1. I'm a shrimp, only 5'1". I've never been crazy about being short.
2. I love the outdoors and nothing makes me happier than being at our barns. We have goats, mini donkeys, mini horses, chickens, and ducks.
3. I hate shoes and socks, I would wear flip flops all year if I could get away with it.
4. Didn't have a clue how to start a blog til a few months ago and I convinced myself to be a popular and published scrapbooker (my dream) I had to start one - so here I am!
5. My favorite snack is ham (sliced) and plain lays chips - it's been my snack since I was a little kid and I still can't get enough of it.
6. I'm very impatient - things must be done now.
7. I'm either reading a good Amish romance novel or a good Vampire romance novel - uhhh I think those 2 types of books are kinda different:)
OK I think everyone in the world has been tagged by this already, so I'm tagging Mom who I love dearly and can't believe after years of begging that she's all of a sudden "Mrs. Card-Maker" and my Aunt T who inspired me to make my first scrapbook page years ago, without her I more than likely wouldn't be the scrapper I am now.
Now for my next piece of business. I've received the cutest award from Mary
My job is to pass this award on to 5 deserving bloggers. And here's my list:
1. Mom
2. Aunt T
3. Rae
4. Dawn
5. Danielle
I think these women are all great scrappers who try to inspire us with their blogs.
That's all for tonite...enjoy.

2 Sketches 4 You
I'm early this week! Usually I wait to the eleventh hour to submit my card! This weeks "Smile" was fun. I had been seeing these cute flowers that Melissa Phillips and Dawn McVey were making on their blogs and had to try it. I used my Cricut "Walk in my Garden" cartridge, some K & Co. heritage paper, and Tim Holtz distress ink. My button is an antique that I got at a little antique shop when I was in Tennessee. The rest of my card is Melissa Frances paper, Martha Stewart ink and punch, and Deja Views rub on. I clipped the flower between petals and slightly curled them.
Still chilly in Kentucky and may snow next week for Thanksgiving! That would really put me in the holiday spirit.
Hope you enjoy the card.

CPS Challenge
Usually I am so focused on the 2 Sketches Challenge that I don't try other challenges...but this week I changed my mind. This card is for the CPS challenge
(http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/). I've been going to their website forever and they have such talented designers, so I figured I'd give it a try. This little card came together in a snap, don't you just love when that happens?!? I used Reminisce paper, Creative Imaginations stickers, K & Co. brads, Martha Stewart ink, and Melissa Frances ribbon. It was so simple to put together...maybe this should be my Christmas card design? Not often that a card just comes together like that for me...I usually sit and pick at the card for hours trying to decide what it needs and changing my mind. I sometimes work as long as 3 days on a scrapbooking layout, I sit and just stare at it forever trying to figure out what it needs. I should be spending this time cleaning house!
Hope tonites card puts you in the Christmas spirit. And every one needs to go to Elizabeth Kartchner's blog (link's to your right). She's having a BIG giveaway that you don't want to miss! Enjoy.

Cloud 9!
OK, I don't like to talk about myself or anything....but I have to say that I am tickled pink (and purple and green and yellow) over being in the Fab 5 at 2 Sketches 4 You! It's hard to describe how it feels that people like what you make after trying so hard and loving scrapping and card making so much. OK that's all I'm saying about that, but it is an honor.
My card tonite is a "Thank You" card made with My Mind's Eye and Making Memories paper, Melissa Francis stickers and ribbon, and Martha Stewart ribbon, and a Michaels $1 stamp. The Martha ribbon I used I found in the Christmas decorations at KMart, guess it's suppose to be used for tree trimming...but they are beautiful pastels and I knew the ribbon would be wonderful sitting in my scrapbook room. So always keep your eyes open, never know where a pretty card embellishment might be!
It's very cold in Kentucky and still suppose to snow, even though they've been saying that for days and I've still not seen a drop! Anyone excited about the Twilight movie coming out this week? I'm sure me and thousands of teenagers are!
Hope you enjoy the card!

It's Raining It's Pouring
Ah, what a wonderful sound. Rain! You don't appreciate it till you don't have it. We've had a terribly dry Fall and life on a farm is hard without rain. My ducks will be on Cloud 9 by tomorrow if this steady rain keeps up...but now for the bad news. This wonderful moisture is suppose to be snow by the end of the weekend. I'm already tired of the cold weather and ready for Spring.
Guess what I did today? Made some Christmas cookies. I found some neat glitter gel icing for decorating the other day and couldn't resist. My sugar cookies turned out ok, they kinda got big in the oven, it's like the snowman went from small to large. But they were still yummy. I wasn't sure if I should use the icing before or after baking, so I used it before and love how it turned out. It sorta melted into the cookies and made them so pretty.
In honor of my cooking, I've got another Christmas card tonite. This one is so much prettier in person because the snowman is so glittery. But it was a fun card to make and someone will probably be receiving it in about a month!
Well I submitted my first card to a magazine, scary huh? Guess I'll never know unless I try! Enjoy.

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge
Hi all. Tonite I finally finished my 2 Sketches 4 You challenge for the week. This card is in honor of the snow that's suppose to be flying by this weekend in Kentucky! I used Reminisce paper, some Queen and Co. felt, chipboard and my Fiskars scallop punch. I don't know how I survived without that punch, use it constantly! It took me a couple of cards to finally get one worthy of submitting to 2 Sketches. So maybe you'll get to see the one's that didn't make it later this week! Enjoy!

Cardalicious Challenge
This weeks Cardalicious challenge is to make a card out of a file folder. I happen to have a little mini file folder in my scrapbook stash and had never known what to do with it. So this challenge was perfect. I used My Mind's Eye papers and a Melissa Francis tag with my Fiskars scalloped punch and a few random ribbons. But if you don't have a file folder it would be easy to make with a paper trimmer and a corner rounder.
That's all tonite. Enjoy.
